CutWord Privacy Policy

Last updated: 14 May 2025

1. Information We Collect

1.1 In-App Data

CutWord processes video and audio files locally on your device. We do not transmit, store, or otherwise access the contents of your media, command triggers, or any edits you make.

1.2 Telemetry

We do not embed analytics, ads, or third-party tracking libraries in CutWord. The only usage data we receive comes from Apple’s TestFlight service while you participate in the beta program. TestFlight may provide us with:

We cannot link these metrics to an identified or identifiable individual.

1.3 Website Interactions

The public website cutword.com is a static marketing site. We do not set cookies, use web beacons, or log IP addresses beyond standard, short-lived server logs required for security and performance.

2. How We Use Information

We use the limited TestFlight telemetry described above solely to:

  1. Diagnose crashes and improve app stability;
  2. Understand aggregate feature usage to prioritize development;
  3. Validate that performance goals are met across device models.

No personal data is sold, rented, or shared with third parties.

3. Data Retention

TestFlight crash logs and analytics remain in Apple’s developer dashboard for up to 1 year or as otherwise governed by Apple’s policies. We do not extract or store this data elsewhere unless needed to reproduce a critical bug, in which case it is deleted when no longer necessary.

4. Third-Party Services

No other third-party services process your data.

5. Security

Although CutWord performs all processing locally, we follow industry best practices to secure our website, developer accounts, and any servers that may incidentally store crash logs.

6. Children’s Privacy

CutWord is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in the app or legal requirements. Material changes will be announced on cutword.com and, when applicable, through TestFlight release notes. Continued use of CutWord after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

8. Your Rights & Contact

If you have questions or requests regarding your data, contact us at [email protected]. While we generally receive no personal data, we will respond promptly to any privacy-related inquiries.

9. Governing Law

This Privacy Policy is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, specifically the courts of Ventura County and the United States District Court for the Central District of California, which shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising under this Policy.
